Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP)
Emergency Care Practitioners (ECPs) are Paramedics, nurses or other health professionals with additional training in injury assessment, diagnostic skills and advanced wound care. Has ultimate responsibility for the quality of medical care provided on scene (in the absence of an on-site medical practitioner).
State Registered Paramedic
All Paramedics are required to be registered with the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC). Paramedics are trained to use advanced life support techniques and can administer a wide range of drugs for medical and trauma conditions. In order for them to maintain their qualification they must update their skills regularly and prove their competence through examination. Has ultimate responsibility for the quality of medical care provided on scene (in the absence of an on-site medical practitioner or ECP)
State Registered Paramedic
A qualified nurse is one whose name is entered in the professional register maintained by the UK Central Council for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting.
State Registered Paramedic
A person who holds a current IHCD Ambulance Technician certificate. The IHCD requirements are that you undertake 750 hours of supervised practice in emergency ambulances. Your supervised practice must be carried out with a qualified IHCD Technician or HCPC Paramedic and you will be required to keep a portfolio of evidence, which will undergo verification after you have completed the 750 hours.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
A person who meets the basic requirements for advanced first aider status and who has completed a recognised Emergency Medical Technician course. EMT personnel are trained and experienced in the use and practice of basic life support, medical gases, automated external defibrillation, patient assessment, triage and advanced care of medical and traumatic illness or injuries. May also be trained in advanced and emergency driving skills.
State Registered Paramedic
A person who holds a current first aid certificate issued by the HSE via an approved training centre. Private Paramedic Services first aid staff have comprehensive training and experience in providing first aid at public and crowd events
Emergency Care Assistant (ECA)
A person who meets the basic requirements for first aid, ECA personnel are trained and experienced in the use and practice of basic life support, medical gases, automated external defibrillation, lifting & handling, patient assessment, triage and care of medical and traumatic illness or injuries and have a sound knowledge of all Ambulance equipment. They are trained in advanced and emergency driving skills.
